This was Seven Hills BPI’s 11th year supporting Advertising Week Europe, for three-days of conversations on the trends shaping the creative industries. Bringing together senior leaders from marketing, media, tech, TV, and podcasting – AWEurope 2025’s headline speakers included Gary Lineker, Jessie J, Myleene Klass, Davina McCall, Dynamo, David Walliams, and Matt Lucas.
Other notable sessions included Jaguar’s Managing Director Rawdon Glover, who discussed the controversial (and unexpected) response to the relaunch of its brand last year – proving the old maxim ‘there’s no such thing as bad publicity’ may well still hold true: “You’ve got to remember that for Jaguar, we were a brand that was largely becoming less and less relevant in today’s society. It wasn’t being talked about,” he said. “To go from that to being the most talked about thing on the planet for three days, in terms of what’s trending on social media, was just beyond any of those expectations.”
The Seven Hills BPI team led press outreach for the event, securing nearly 300 pieces of coverage across BBC News, The Independent, City AM, Daily Mail, PA Media, and more, as well as a segment on Times Radio’s ‘CEO of the Week’ for Katie Ingram, Director of Advertising Week Europe.
Working with research partner, Cint, we also developed a data story around how consumer sentiment has changed since the turn of the century, and the different spending and saving priorities across the generations. Surprisingly, Gen Z respondents said they felt more financially empowered and able to save than their older peers, suggesting that the younger generation are making deliberate, disciplined, value-conscious choices about how they spend and save – focused on flexible and affordable solutions, rather than large purchases.
Along with a panel discussion which unpacked the research findings, we analysed what these insights mean for brands in an opinion piece for The Media Leader. You can read the full analysis here.
While Advertising Week Europe has been running for more than a decade, there was time for something new, opening the market at the London Stock Exchange for the first time. This was an opportunity to recognise the success of Advertising Week Europe and its leadership team, while celebrating the creative industries’ growing contribution to the UK economy.
