Seven Hills BPI supported the Lowry in celebrating its 25th anniversary, a landmark moment for one of the UK’s most iconic and ambitious Millennium Projects and a cultural institution that has played a transformative role in the regeneration of Salford and the wider North West.
The anniversary offered an opportunity to spotlight Lowry’s journey over the past quarter-century, its emergence as a hub of world-class theatre, visual art, and community engagement. Through powerful storytelling and coordinated media activity, we helped to champion its social, cultural and economic impact.
The team secured a feature in The Independent that captured the heart of the anniversary, with a deep dive into Gods of Salford, a bold new production developed with young working-class talent from the region. The piece included compelling quotes from Director Jimmy Fairhurst, CEO Julia Fawcett, and the cast, showcasing Lowry’s commitment to elevating authentic local voices.
BBC Radio 4’s Front Row also aired a live anniversary interview with Julia Fawcett from Salford’s MediaCityUK, positioning Lowry within the legacy of Millennium cultural projects. The discussion highlighted the venue’s 25-year journey, and called for renewed government commitment to sustainable cultural investment.
It’s been a privilege to mark this milestone alongside the Lowry team and to help share the story of a cultural institution that continues to shape the UK’s creative future.
